A University of California, Berkeley and Harvard Law School graduate, Kathleen Antonia is an accomplished writer and activist in addition to her long career acting, singing, and dancing.

 

Growing up with lessons in dance, martial arts, guitar, violin, and drums, it was a relatively easy transition from the practice of law to the entertainment industry. Antonia trained with the late, great Cliff Osmond and a number of other talented teachers including Carissa Blix and Beau Bonneau (Commercial On-camera), Dana Cory and Ed Hooks (Improv), Jim Jarrett (Meisner Technique), Kurtis Matthews (Stand-Up Comedy), Paoli Lacy (Physical Comedy), Carla Pantoja (Stage Combat), Tamisa A'awapuhi (Tahitian Ori), Amanda Grady (Odissi Indian Classical Dance), Ronnie Reddick and Christiane Crawford (Hip Hop Jazz), Toran McGill (Pole Dancing), Jake Kimball and Simon Rowston (Trapeze), Betty Shamieh and Josephina Lopez (Writing), Tina Mabry (Directing), and Ben Ferrer (Lighting).

 

First booking jingles for Mattel, Antonia's credits now include on-camera and voiceover work for popular video games, commercials, and television shows. She has acted in numerous films including Sundance Film Festival winner Dopamine and episodics House MD and Trauma. Antonia has also performed on stage with the American Conservatory Theater, San Francisco Mime Troupe, Golden Thread Productions, San Francisco Opera, and a host of other theatrical companies as well as played the didjeridu in the Bank of America Down Under Tour for the 2000 Olympic Games. A long time singer of every genre, her credits include arias for Michael Kaulkin's opera The Ghost of Wu, live jazz performances with the Tom Shaw Trio and Marcus Shelby, and award winning dance vocals as a member of Leo Frappier Band (LFB).

 

Antonia produces her own projects via What The ... Productions and Novel Approach, LLC including feature length documentary Getting Played: who's playing you? - Honorable Mention recipient at the 2010 International Black Women's Film Festival - and I Have All The Feelings, an animated short that was an IBWFF Official Selection in 2014. Her second animated short Early Aliens was an Official Selection at ASTRONOMO: Speculative Fiction on Film + Black Women  in 2015.
