Getting Here

The venue for this year's Symposium is in the Anthropology Corner of the Main Quad. Building 01-300 can be found on campus-map.stanford.edu. Just search for 01-300 or building 300 - main quad and you will find the venue behind Memorial Church near the intersection of Escondido Mall and Lasuen Mall. Room #300 is on

the first floor with accessible entrances church-side and on Escondido Mall.

FROM THE PALO ALTO TRANSIT STATION

CalTrain stops at the Palo Alto Transit Station from 5 in the morning until 11 o'clock at night.

Northbound train #143 arrives in Palo Alto at 11:46 a.m. Southbound trains #138 and #142

arrive in Palo Alto at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. respectively and leave Millbrae BART Station thirty-

Stanford's free Marguerite Shuttle can take you from the Palo Alto Transit Station to campus.

The P Line will drop you in the Stanford Oval, and you can walk from there toward and then

behind Memorial Church to find Building 300 on the Main Quad. Line X will drop you along

Santa Teresa or at Tressider, stops walking distance to the venue. The Tressider stop has dining,

shopping, and ATMs and is walking distance to the post office and Stanford Bookstore.

You can plan your trip using 511.org or consulting Stanford's Plan Your Visit page.

PARKING

Tressider offers the most options for parking, but spaces are available along Santa Teresa, in

the lot across from the Papua New Guinea Sculpture Garden, and in the Stanford Oval. Please

consult Stanford's parking map for locations. For attendees with mobility limitations, there will be a golf cart available to transport you to the venue, leaving Tressider Parking Lot at noon. Look for the awaiting driver with identifying sign.

MAKING A DAY OF IT

Stanford University offers numerous galleries and museums, outdoor gardens and sculpture. Take a self-guided walking tour. Visit the Anderson Collection or Cantor Arts Center and adjacent Rodin Sculpture Garden. Closer to the venue are  Hoover Tower and the Stanford Art Gallery, currently exhibiting African-American Automobility: The Dangerous Freedom of the Open Road. You may not be able to see everything in one day, but you sure will have fun trying!
