writing in the disciplines ~ at a glance

LAW & POLICY

Law/policy writing needs to be succinct and to the point.

Legislators, attorneys, judges, etc. want to know quickly and clearly:

  1. The issue

  2. The rules (regulations, laws, data, etc.)

  3. The argument

    followed by a brief conclusion.

While histories and anecdotes may have a place, generally information that only directly clarifies an issue, rule, or argument is included.
